I am a seasoned information technology professional with years of Quality Assurance Management experience. I have extensive knowledge of software and hardware quality assurance, quality control, standards development, software development analysis, and software testing. I have hands on practical experience in project, total quality, configuration, change, problem, and library management. Consulted with the Information Systems department of this Midwest property and casualty insurer. The business consisted of approximately sixty percent personal lines and forty percent commercial lines as well as a few life insurance products. Personal lines included automobile, homeowner’s, watercraft, and personal property coverage. Commercial lines consisted mainly of fleet vehicle and liability insurance. Established the Information System department's testing function and improve the quality assurance function. Established a Quality Assurance Council, Production Implementation Management Team, and department problem management function. The HUON project replaced over sixty percent of the insurance company’s software including the rating function, the claims function and the reinsurance function of the client’s business. Acted as HUON Project testing Team Leader while training Shelter personnel to be self sufficient. Worked with insurance personnel from every department in the company as well as local and remote agent offices to ensure the developed software system met the business need. Established project software promotion and testing library hierarchies. Developed software acquisition procedures and led a team to select, purchase, and utilize the Compuware Hiperstation testing tool. Developed a complete automated testing suite utilizing REXX procedures and the facilities of the Hiperstation tool in a TSO/MVS environment.

Early in this multi million dollar project, worked with system architects to establish and write a project development standards manual. Led and supervised a test team of 12 testers and 40 users in integration and system testing of over 2,000 programs in two large accounting applications. Through incorporation of DB2 Subsystems, IMS Regions, and over two dozen libraries, established a discreet system testing environment that allowed programmers to continue development while system testing completed modules. Developed and implemented integration and system testing procedures which provided project management measurable and manageable task descriptions. Authored unit test standards that gave developers a uniform method of unit testing and reporting. Saved hundreds of hour’s effort by automating a major portion of the testing effort using IBM’s TPNS testing tool. Wrote testing harnesses with the REXX scripting utility which were used to perform capacity and load testing of the planned software and hardware configurations.

Trained more than 30 analysts, 50 programmers and 40 user testers in test principles, methods and procedures. The training increased individual and overall testing efficiency, which resulted in testing to be completed on schedule.

Responsible for the daily supervision of up to 18 testers. Demonstrated a unique ability to foster a positive relationship with all developers, managers, clients and customers, thus strengthened the partnership between IBM and Santa Fe Railway.
