Facilities / Maintenance Manager
Oversee production equipment operations, buildings, and grounds. Develop and implement strategies to optimize facilities and equipment for an approximately 300,000 sq ft building complex (225,000 manufacturing, 73,000 offices, and 2,000 café) that supplies workspace for ~ 460 employees (350 manufacturing and 110 corporate). Direct numerous manufacturing functions, including equipment maintenance, machinery procurement, spare parts inventory, the tool crib, the CMMS program, and the plant layout (leveraging Disposable & Fixed Asset Tracking (DFT) technology). Maintain alignment with all government regulations and corporate policies / objectives. Negotiate advantageous contracts with service vendors. Manage company vehicle fleet, electrical and HVAC systems, construction / renovation, and office décor / moves. Supervise 13 direct reports (2 in facilities maintenance, 6 in maintenance, and 5 porters).
Representative Accomplishments
• Rescued an engineer from a fatal accident by responding quickly and preventing suffocation.
• Spurred a potential full recovery of a $1.2M capital equipment loss by enabling a custom laminating machine inoperable since purchase (despite efforts of engineers who orchestrated the purchase) to enter production; company then invested $100,000 for panel certification and the machine achieved full production.
• Generated $98,000 savings by decreasing factory energy usage 35%.
• Reduced electrical code violations from 75 to zero and facilitated full compliance with inspection requirements and regulations by developing a monitoring system.
• Minimized susceptibility to losses from outages / disasters by obtaining a generator at no expense through network of business contacts.
