Yard Services Manager 2008-present

Currently managing the company’s largest spotting and shuttling account, directing 65 hourly shuttle drivers and yard spotters in a 3 shift/24hr daily operation. Responsible for staffing, scheduling, forecasting work loads, equipment utilization and maintenance. Dealing directly with the customer as first point of contact, while maintaining required service levels and analyzing weekly productivity reports and cost efficiencies.

Safety Training Manager 2005–2008

In charge of Orientations and new hire training. Certified Smith Systems Safety instructor conducting all company training programs for 200+ Drivers and 30+ Warehouse personnel. Providing instruction on Accident & Loss Prevention, DOT/OSHA Safety Regulations, Haz-Mat loading & securement. Division Manager 2002-2005

Responsible for set-up and operations of an off site division, handling JIT automotive freight in and around the Ohio and Michigan area, with gross revenues in excess of $3 million per year. Duties involved supervision of dispatchers and drivers. Recruiting & hiring, Canadian Customs procedures, DOT regulations, Forecasting equipment needs, Negotiating equipment leases, Fleet utilization and scheduling along with direct customer service contact and problem resolution related to “On Time” deliveries.

Human Resource Supervisor 2000-2002

Handling recruiting and hiring of all company drivers and warehouse personnel while supporting operational functions. Maintained H/R records and DOT compliance files, Equipment licensing and permitting, Accident reporting, insurance claims & negotiations and workers compensation.

Dedicated Account Manager 1998-2000

In charge of an outside contract account consisting of a dedicated spotting and shuttling operation. Responsible for hiring, training and supervision of 35 hourly drivers. Helped to secure and additional revenues to this account, while reducing driver turnover.

Operations Manager 1996-1998

Responsible for daily operations of this regional fleet, consisting of company drivers and owner operators running the tri-state area. Supervised dispatchers and additional office support staff. Handled scheduling of in house freight accounts to ensure “On Time” deliveries. Assisted in developing back-haul lanes and brokerage operations to reduce deadhead miles and increase equipment productivity.

Dispatcher 1994-1996

Performed basic dispatch functions in regards to freight movement in and around the Ohio area. In charge of local and regional drivers and owner operators as well as scheduling and routing of state wide straight truck deliveries. Maintained daily communications with maintenance department as well as outside vendors and suppliers.

Driver / Owner Operator 1986-1994

Class-A Driver, owner operator contracted to Dist-Trans Co., running general TL and Multi-stop commodities throughout Ohio and neighboring states. Also operated company owned equipment including Tractor Trailer, Straight Truck and Yard spotter as needed to accomplish the task. Averaged over “500,000 Safe Miles” during this driving period.
