EXPERIENCE:
Intern in Department of Pharmacology
Adnexus, a BMS R&D company January 2011 – May 2011
• Evaluate Pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of an adnectin using both Mesoscale and colorimetric ELISA formats.
• Perform all the PK analysis using Gen 5 (colorimetric) and Mesoscale Discovery (Mesoscale) softwares.
• Assist staff members in preparation of PK study and collection of serum and plasma samples at various timepoints as required for different PK study design in immunodeficient mice.
• Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), including complete and proper documentation of all procedures.
• Maintain a clean environment and equipment by following safety procedures and using laboratory equipment properly.
• Learn various mouse in vivo skills including animal handling, tail-vein bleeding and IP injections.
• Assist staff members on tissue preparation and blood collection at necropsy.
• Follow SOPs to comply with the use of immunocompetent and immunodeficient mice.

Analytical Chemistry:
• Analyze and determine unknown concentration of chemical compounds such as phosphate and glucose using standard curve created by standard solutions.
• Separate components in a mixture consisting of Salt (NaCl), Sand (SiO2), and Benzoic acid (C6H5COOH) by investigate each component’s physical and chemical properties.
• Synthesize aspirin and test its purity using TLC and HPLC with Breeze software.
• Extract caffeine from tea bags and determine its concentration using HPLC with Breeze software.
• Identify accelerant using GC-FID using PerkinElmer Total Chrom software to investigate an arson crime.
Molecular Biology:
• Quantify enzyme activity with the effect of specific substrate concentration and temperature.
• Extract DNA from bacteria cells.
• Study the growth pattern of yeast population.
• Amplify DNA using PCR and run Agarose Gel to determine size of DNA.
Biochemistry:
• Perform pGLO transformation, purify GFP proteins using column chromatography, and run SDS-Page Gel to determine length of proteins.
