Personal Statement

In my career to date I have had a varied and challenging workload requiring many skills and

attributes. As a police officer I have excellent communication skills to both members of the public and

colleagues. I have patience, understanding and remain professional at all times. Dealing with

members of the public and also detained persons requires high interpersonal skills on all levels. I am

honest, trustworthy and reliable which can be shown in my present role, I am also organised, efficient

and confident and can adapt well to new challenges and environments

Career to Date

West Yorkshire Police Force (Sep 2002-Sep 2012)

Police Officer

Front line Law and Order, working for West Yorkshire Police Force, working within a number of

roles. Investigating crimes on all levels from Theft’s, Deception’s down to public order offences. This

requires excellent investigation skills, from obtaining witness statements, seizing CCTV and forensic

evidence to conducting interviews with suspects. I also have extremely high interpersonal and

communication skills from dealing with victims of crime down to suspects and witnesses. In my

present profession I have gained knowledge of various computer systems including: Word, Excel,

Lotus Notes and numerous other systems relative to the Police, I am also trained in static surveillance.

Working for this company I was responsible for placing employees with our client base as and when

required. This entailed communicating on all levels with both employees and clients, dealing with

enquires and queries via telephone/email and in person. .

HM Forces Royal Signals (Jan 1989-Sep 1996)

From leaving school at 16 years of age I joined the Royal Signals as a Data Telegraphist, working

with various communication devices providing support and lines of communication for my

colleagues. Within my time in the Forces I served in Desert Storm in Iraq, UN in Cyprus and Belize

and the UK.
