Effect of Metakaolin and Polypropylene on Properties of Concrete:

Description:

In this project Effect of Metakaolin and Polypropylene on Properties of Concrete is studied. In order to improve mechanical strength and to reduce alkali silica reaction the use of metakaolin & Polypropylene is done. The metakaolin can be used as replacement material about 10 to 15% of cement & Polypropylene in 0.25%. The effect of metakaolin & Polypropylene on the various properties of concrete is studied such as compressive strength & tensile strength.

Conclusion:

The maximum compressive strength for metakaolin mixed concrete without fibers was 24.22 MPa after 7 days of curing at 15 % by replacement of cement & maximum tensile strength was 2.65 MPa.

The maximum compressive strength for metakaolin mixed concrete with 0.25% of fibers was 29.18 MPa after 7 days of curing at 20% by replacement of cement & maximum tensile strength was 2.02 MPa after 7 days of curing at 5% by replacement of cement.
