Provided leadership and technical direction for a team made up of one manager, three lab supervisors and twenty-eight other metrology professionals. As a six sigma black belt I also engaged my teams in process and productivity improvement projects utilized statistical methods to establish and report key metrology metrics. My teams identified cost avoidance projects that saved $150,000 and provided Genzyme with its first 21 CFR part 11 compliant computer tracking system. My fiscal responsibilities included developing annual budgets, evaluating and recommending capital expenditures. I routinely monitored the cost and performance of over fifty external suppliers. Regulatory responsibilities included ensuring that there were no significant regulatory observations during FDA, MCA, and ISO surveillance visits I was able to conduct my first six sigma black belt project in our corporate I.T department that resulted in a cost saving of $510,000 utilizing cross functional teams six sigma tools.
