Professional Summary

Very extensive background in Product Development, managing and developing diverse new products for the consumer, medical, and transportation industries. Many years of experience in developing new products with various engineering materials including plastics, sheet metal, castings, fixtures, tooling, and test fixtures/apparatus; including the use of unusual materials resistant to chemicals, exposure, and weather.

Responsibilities have included working with cross functional teams with other Engineers within a new product development and production process Engineering setting; to develop new products and provide technical assistance in both product development and manufacturing processes, relative to new products, as well as assist or directly improve and, or enhance current production products.

Specific duties have included, but not limited to, Project planning, new product design, validation testing, and assisting in product implementation. Conduct design reviews, provide Matrix interface, and provide technical support to other engineers and others involved in design and production issues. Coordinate multiple activities with team members; interacting with other functional groups to provide guidance and mentoring to other engineers, with respect to product, schedule, quality, and required documentation as needed to meet project objectives; as well as evaluate manufacturing needs and assisting Mfg Engineering implementing these new products into production; including conferring with suppliers, fabricators, and equipment manufacturers at times to achieve product line goals.

New Product Development experience includes many years utilizing industrial design and various methods of using rapid prototyping technologies including SLA, SLS, and FDM in the product development process. Many years with industrial design styled components and assemblies. Strong technical skills regarding DFA, lean manufacturing processes, assembly tooling, while managing teams’ various disciplines within manufacturing support staff that are required to bring new products to fruition.

Project Engineer - Innovation Group - Design and manage the engineering and production implementation of hair clipper products for both the professional, and consumer retail industry.

Applications for personal use in both large and small consumer and professional products retail outlets, providing low cost, high quality, and technologically differentiated products for their stores.

Provide technical leadership for all aspects of product development for all phases of the development process, including design, test, and implementation of new hair cutting products.

Plan and execute project schedules as required for these new products throughout the development cycle.

Provide and execute validation testing programs as necessary, providing adherence to performance specifications.

Provide product design resource, assist with prototyping, fixture design, and testing as required for the design, development and documentation of headlight light systems for off-road and industrial vehicles.

Managed the design release and assisted with implementing several instruments into production. Received 8 design patents for new innovations in surgical devices.

1988 to 1990 BUTLER SERVICE GROUP, IND., Kokomo, IN

Mechanical Engineer, HVAC Engineering (Delco Electronics Div. GM) Responsible for development of new HVAC sensor programs. Design, develop, and prototype new products and technology to simplify assembly.
