JOB SUMMARY - ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OPERATOR

I have over twenty years of knowledge and experience working in the Distribution Control Room with Progress Energy Carolinas as a Electrical Distribution System Operator (Dispatcher). Duties: I worked in the Engineer Department using Computer (Cadops, DSCADA) Systems, Engineering, and training skills to dispatch and monitor the company's power generating, and metering equipment in the company's electric system, while monitoring the electrical distribution grid for potential problems (Fault Finding System), schedule interruptions, and any unusual situations that may occur, I also coordinate restoring power to the distribution electrical systems doing major outages storms. I also have training on the transmission and distribution grid level switching load in time of schedule interruptions and power outages. I was trained to identify every phase of the transmission grid from the generation power plants, switchyard to the substation to the distribution grid. I had substation training every other year identifying and learning the operation of every part of the substation from the equipment room, regulators, transformers, capacitor banks to the switches, and know every function it does and how to trouble shoot potential problems, how to neutralize regulators to apply hot line tags, place clearances, and line tying feeder breakers inside the substation. l use the company's DIS mapping system to map main electric lines on the electrical system, operate computerize switches and substation to transfer electrical power loads throughout the system, monitor service personnel on a daily basis, radio communication to dispatch company servicemen and crews on daily and emergency assignments. I also trained a number of entry level System Operators to successful careers doing my 20 years career as a 1st class System Operator. (Contact: Human Resource Phone: 800-***-****)
