OBJECTIVE
Work in a growth-oriented organization, which offers job responsibility in mechanical engineering and utilize my technical abilities.
EXPERIENCE
1. Graduate Research Assistant Fall 2010 – Present
University Of North Carolina, Charlotte, NC
• Graduate Thesis: Study of DES and RANS flow over Simplified Car Body (Ahmed Body) for 350 and 250 slant angles.
• Three-dimensional numerical simulations using StarCCM+ 5.02 were performed to model the airflow over the Ahmed Body, standard bluff body designed to understand the effect of rear slant angle on body drag.
• Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) and Reynolds averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) were performed on Ahmed Body for 350 and 250 slant angles which bracket the critical slant angle of 300.
• Preprocessing (modeling and surface meshing) was done using SolidWorks and ANSA. StarCCM+ 5.02 was used for volume meshing and as a solver. For post-processing and visualization EnSight software was used.
• Computational results obtained were compared with available experimental and computational data.
2. Graduate Teaching Assistant Fall 2008 - Spring 2009
University Of North Carolina, Charlotte, NC
• Assisted professors in Undergraduate courses like – Thermodynamics and Introduction to Vehicle Aerodynamics.
• Conducting labs for undergraduate students to teach the use of CFD software - StarCCM+.
• Graded weekly assignments, mid-terms and final exams.
3. Graduate Engineering Trainee(Assistant Line In-charge) 2007-2008
Bharat Forge Limited, Pune, India
• Regular work included planning and scheduling for repair of hammer dies- used to forge Crankshaft, Front Axle Beams, Connecting Rods, and Steering Knuckles.
• Worked in an assigned project for increasing die life and decreasing cost per piece of axle-beam and crankshaft dies. It resulted in 4.5% reduction of cost and increased the die-life by 2%.
