Relevant Professional Experience
NREL - Strategic Energy Analysis, Geothermal Energy Engineer/Analyst Aug `11 – Present
Analysis of current U.S. Geothermal power plant performance for future market penetration models. Suggest methods to report performance data so reporting agencies compare geothermal plants on an “apples to apples” basis. Contact Plant operators directly for data, and keep a healthy relationship with NREL.
NREL – Thermochemical Conversion, Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer July `10 – Aug `11
Design/CAD/Fabrication of high temp (up to 950 C) mechanical components (Cooling vessels, Cyclones, Scrubbers, Phase separators, Fluidized bed distributors, etc.) within Gasification and Pyrolysis Pilot Plant. First line of contact with NREL machine shop. System Troubleshooting, maintenance, component wiring, component testing, pilot plant operation and assisting Sr. level engineers and scientists with gas analysis.
City of Mesa - Engineering, Student Intern Jun `08 – Jun `09
Re-design calculations for construction projects, Troubleshooting and failure and fatigue analysis for mechanical components, heat transfer modeling, and CAD drawing updates for As-Builts and RFI’s. Responsible for monthly accountability and variance reports. Updated and managed T&M sheets. Performed city inspections.
Arizona State University - Engineering, Lab Supervisor Oct `05 – Dec `08
Mentored students with SolidWorks models and their corresponding Motion Analysis. Mentored students with robot assembly and code. Advised students on project fabrication including helping with manual 3-axis mill.
