Defense and para-military product manufacturer
Director, Technical Services (1988-1992)
Led all technical and engineering services (135 employees) under “Top Secret” security level, covering three 3 OEM manufacturing operations of defense and para-military products.
Developed and executed Marketing and sale’s strategies focused on gaining new manufacturing contracts of defense products from the Department of National Defense (DND) of Canada.
Directed all activities related to industrial plant design & erection, from Greenfield to start-up, of 19 families of defense products coming from international defense industries into Canada.
Developed and certified new sources of supply and, contract negotiated all upstream purchasing & procurement of product materials, parts and sub-assemblies (+200 suppliers across North America).
Developed and executed multiple projects with DND covering the preparation of product engineering drawings, material specifications and respective quality inspection, testing and acceptance performance, contractual specifications of new defense products.
Acted as the « design authority » relative to any change requests on the product’s performance and design specifications coming from suppliers and/or the manufacturing.
Nominated for several “awards of excellence” for exceptional contributions in the realization of the industrialization of complex new defense products into Canada.
Directed the downsizing of manufacturing operations by closing one plant while expanding & technologically transforming the remaining 2 plants resulting in a $15 millions/year saving.
