Professional Objective

Applying my training and background in the fields of Materials Control, Procurement and Supplier Management, it is my goal to progress my career to the Management level, affording me the opportunity to use my knowledge and experience to positively impact a team’s professional goals.

Professional Experience

October 2006 – present: BAE Systems RO Defense, Inc. Hattiesburg, MS (same as previous position)

Subcontract Administrator/Supplier Management –

In my current position, I represent my company as ‘first point of contact’ for two of our 1st tier suppliers, managing the ongoing work performed under their contracts with BAE. This includes conducting detailed monthly supplier reviews with supporting metrics/measures, focusing on supplier quality performance, on-time delivery and overall execution of contracts. Other areas of responsibility include invoice resolution, coordinating delivery schedules, supporting our Material Control and Quality departments in matters relating to our suppliers, regular on-site supplier visits and monthly reporting to BAE Supply Chain Management. Other duties include submitting RFQ’s, reviewing quotes and serving as Procurement representative on interdepartmental teams. This position has given me the rare opportunity to be involved in international procurement. I report directly to one of BAE’s offices in the United Kingdom and we have suppliers in the UK, France & Italy, as well as a global supply chain for a vast number of projects. I have traveled extensively, both in the U.S. and Europe in support of my work with BAE.

December 2003 – October 2006: BAE Systems RO Defense, Inc. Hattiesburg, MS (same as current position)

Material Controller/Stores Supervisor –

In this position, I managed all material control operations throughout the facility, including shipping/receiving and parts allocations. Utilized SAP for all material transactions (receiving, issuance of parts, generation of production work orders, close out of completed product against sales orders, shipment of finished product). Supervised a small, yet efficient, crew, maintaining a very successful Materials Team.

January 2002 – December 2003: York International, Hattiesburg, MS (same as previous position)

Material Controller –

Duties included receiving all parts and materials coming into the plant into the MAPICS inventory control system. Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy within the plant and two remote warehouses. This included checking in all base steel and sheet metal to ensure sizes and quantities were correct. Duties also included calculating all shipping dimensions of finished HVAC units and coordinating shipping with freight carriers. This position also required updating of all manufacturing bills-of-material when engineering changes were issued for each project and all changes to labor hours for departments where applicable. Ensured that all documentation changes were carried out in accordance with ISO 9001 procedural requirements.

November 2000 – January 2002: York International, Hattiesburg, MS

Drafter/Designer –

Worked with Engineers and the York sales office to design and produce drawings and buy-out bills-of-material for York’s Acuair and Miller Picking air-handling units. As designer, I was responsible for determining performance requirements from engineers and customers for the design and construction of units. I contacted vendors and consulted on the use and performance of buy-out parts and materials. Responsible for preparing bills-of-material, ordering parts and preparing all submittal documentation necessary for construction, shipping, installation and start-up of units. Transferred to position listed above upon company restructuring and the relocation of Acuair production to York’s Illinois facility.

May 1999 – November 2000 – Pierce Construction, Petal, MS

Drafter/Designer –

Prepared shop drawings for the manufacture of sawmill and lumber yard equipment. Responsible for all aspects of equipment design, including structural steel design, machine shop print and overall facility layouts. Duties also included material estimation for purchasing, shop bills-of-material and engineering-related field work, including limited travel.

June 1997 – May 1999 – ThermoKool/Mid-South Industries, Laurel, MS

Product Designer –

Prepared shop drawings, factory cutting bills and bills-of-material for manufacture of walk-in coolers and freezers. Duties included design of individual panel prints, sheet metal layouts and design of doors and frames, including placement of electrical components and wiring diagrams. Provided factory support by solving any design problems and assisting all departments with help or information, supplying technical information to customers, reps, consultants and architects involved with each project, and ensuring that each aspect of production was completed to the highest standard of quality, from manufacture to final inspection and shipping.
