Professional Experience

Flippo Construction, Forestville, MD 1992 – April 2012

• Responsible for leading crew(s) in execution of construction contracts including new construction or additions on the following large scale contracts in the Washington metropolitan area:

1. Baltimore Washington International Airport

2. The Navy Yard

3. Large Valve Contract w/FCCI

4. U.S. Capital Visitors Center

5. Various water main repairs in D.C. for Washington Area Sanitary Authority (WASA)

6. Sewer and Water Treatment Center in Centreville, VA

7. Arlington Sewage Treatment Plant

• Responsible for teaching and managing crew(s) in execution of construction contracts, and provided technical guidance to lower level technicians and instructed same in proper work procedures and methods.

• Management responsibilities included annual performance reviews.

• Taught ad hoc and bi-annual safety courses for small tools, shoring procedures, pipe laying, marking and cutting; tightening mega-lugs; sediment control; and job layout.

• Held morning “tool box” talk with crew for daily production to maintain the schedule.

• Coordinated construction activities and solved problems by communicating with various departments, agencies, and other contractors.

• Extensive experience in regulations and guidelines applicable to work sites overseen by Federal, State and regional authorities such as OHSA, WASA, PEPCO, Washington Gas, Alexandria Water and WSSC.

• Experienced in building manholes; the installation of pre-cast manholes; the installation, repair, and testing of water, sewer, and storm drains in multiple sizes and configurations; in deep timber shoring and shoring boxes; in blueprint reading and interpretation of construction plans; in grade shooting and cut sheets; and proper fill procedures.

• Heavy equipment operator (from a mini-excavator to track excavator).
