Mechanical Engineer

Applications Engineer

General duties: Propose, cost estimate, mechanical design /engineer (component sizing, material costs’, P&ID, piping schematics, etc), layout, and oversee systems of filtration equipment and related items.

Other duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments include:

• Reviewed incoming requests for quotes and evaluated the requirements and concepted feasibility in coordination with the Applications Supervisor, Product Manager, Account Manager, or other relevant sources.

• Reviewed customer specifications for completeness and requested any additional documentation required. Ensured compliance with all customer specifications throughout the quoting phase.

• Responsible for the handling and flow of product through inspection equipment.

• Designed a thin guide rail carry-over for a V-belt that allowed improved viewing angles of customer’s product and better inspection.

• Calculated and set speeds of existing conveyor to match production needs along with bottle rotations for maximum inspection capabilities.

Assembly Technician

General duties: Design (Cadkey 3D) and build tooling that locates automotive hose accessories (clamps, sleeves, inserts, etc.) onto / into an automotive hose within a set tolerance and specifications.

Other duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments include:

• Designed, analyzed, and tested a pneumatic hose clamping prototype tool that became standard for all pneumatic tool designs.

• Tracked tooling from concept, PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) onto production operations according to QS 9000 procedures.

• Helped author the QS 9000 documents for the Assembly Engineering group.

• Worked with Industrial and Process engineering on ergonomic cell configurations to meet the movement toward a lean manufacturing environment.

Summer 96 & 97 MetoKote (Interim Personnel) - Lima, Ohio

Line Operator - Duties were to load, inspect, package, and take inventory of parts on an assembly line for an electrical coating process. Maintained an X-bar / R chart to assure quality standards.
