DESERT EARTH, Tucson, AZ 2010 - Present

Construction Inspector

Responsibilities included over seeing the construction of the renovation of the utility company’s substations, construction of an overhead transmissions lines, the construction of the new electric company equipment, reviewing the contractor’s project schedule, writing daily and weekly reports for the client as well as photos of the progress, coordinating material testing and construction surveys, responsible for overseeing the construction of multiple substations, coordination with the design engineers. Additional responsibilities include putting together as-built plans, punch list, final report, and presentations.

RAYTHEON MISSILES SYSTEM, Tucson, AZ 2008 – 2010

Systems Test Engineer

Managed the manufacturing of projectiles for the Excalibur program which included weekly team meetings, coordination with plant operators, supervisors, and Army personnel, traveling to the

Manufacturing plant, writing up work instructions, Request for deviations and waivers, Change Notices, and provided quality assurance and quality control per the military standards and requirements for all the products that were produced from the plant site. Provided technical support with other Manufacturing Engineers and Supply Engineers to meet the due date and obtain the required materials for the production of Excalibur 1A. Managed a key change to part of the product that successfully improved over all product effectiveness. Acted as Lead in the setup and testing of multiple projectile firings at both Yuma Proving Grounds and at White Sands Missile Range to prove in the changes made to the product per the military requirements and standards. In addition, wrote multiple Test plans and Test Reports for the testing the Excalibur 1A projectile to communicate to the chief engineer and the military all the changes made and the results from recent field test. Assisted in the development, build, and testing of the Excalibur 1B projectile, including environmental testing to help produce a more effective and cheaper product for the military. Provided technical support for manufacturing systems to provide: safe methods, process control methods and plans, and manufacturing layouts.

Managed weather station facility that monitored evaporation, rainfall, temperature, and wind speed.

Complied data was used to determine effects on groundwater model and surrounding towns. Wrote and assembled Groundwater summary reports, Mine characteristics for each facility for closure of mine site using BADCT standards, figures, and appendixes reports for ADEQ per the standards and regulations of the state of Arizona. Assisted in the closing of San Manuel Mine in AZ and did field research on the tailings to see the affects that the mine had on the groundwater.

Design Engineer

Managed and designed water distribution plans for multiple subdivision projects for Tucson Water and Metro Water Companies per the city and county standards and regulations. Assisted in the development of improvement plans for multiple subdivisions and business parks, including plan and profile views to provide new homes and shopping centers. Wrote a number of hydrology reports for multiple subdivisions and commercial sites per the standards of the city and county.

BERRYMAN & HENIGAR, San Diego, CA 1999 – 2000

Staff Engineer

Designed streets for the Ballpark Infrastructure Project for the City of San Diego, Port of San Diego, and San Diego Padres. Participated in putting together plan and profile sheets for all streets surrounding the ballpark. Managed the developed plans for the vertical and horizontal demolition of the ballpark site including field recon, mapping, and utility coordination to properly map out and locate the existing area prior to the construction of the site. Participated in the development of concept study plans for the ballpark site. The concept plans included the location of the proposed library site and strategically placed parking lots. Also created Digital Terrain Models to obtain earthwork information for the plans.

MOFFATT & NICHOL, ENGINEERS, San Diego, CA 1996 – 1999

Staff Engineer

Managed the design of 2,700 feet Reconstruction of La Jolla Blvd. And developed plan and profile sheets. Participated in the construction management for this project and weekly met with the client and city personnel. Participated and designed a storm drain for a landfill project in Los Angeles, CA (Pier 400 Container Terminal). Also developed and drew various dredge elements for the creation of an island off the Port of Long Beach/Los Angeles for container ships to dock and unload their cargo. Managed and designed a Least Tern Nesting Site for main fill area to provide shelter and habitat during construction.
