1978 - 1996 DIVING CAREER

HSE qualified diver since 1978 starting in Nigeria on the Warri Port project installing river bed stabilisation mattresses. Joined Oceaneering International in 1979 and worked for them for the next 20 years both abroad and in UK sector. Worked in the Middle East from 1980 to 1984 carrying out oilfield maintenance and inspection tasks in various areas of the Arabian Gulf. For some of this work I held a supervisory and managerial positions. On return to the UK I continued working for Oceaneering carrying out oilfield maintenance, construction and inspection tasks. Most of this work was carried out in the Southern and Dutch Sectors of the North Sea. Most areas of sub-sea inspection were covered, MPI, Eddy current, Current density (Swain clip), UT and CP. On most of these jobs the care, maintenance and good working order of the inspection equipment was also my responsibility both on and offshore.
