OBJECTIVE: With many years in the commercial construction and maintenance business, as well as my proven abilities in estimating, purchasing, field supervision, and architectural drawing I feel I am well suited for a management position in the construction industry.

My duties with Peebles Department Stores are the same as my duties with Federated Department Stores (fully detailed below) with the added responsibility of being overall supervisor to two full time project managers. I do all the scheduling, budgeting, and review these employees.

12/1998 – 2/1/06 Federated Department Stores Construction Adminstrator Cincinnati, OH

My duties with Federated Department Stores includes, but is not limited to, total on site construction management of remodeling and building new retail full line department stores with Federated Department Stores, Bloomingdale and Macy’s divisions. At anytime on large construction projects I oversee 100 to 150 contractors on a daily basis. I have extensive working knowledge of building trade unions nationwide. This position requires extensive travel on a weekly basis within the Eastern United States.

These Duties Include:

 Reviewing of all construction drawings and documents; preparing written revisions; submitting such revisions to store planners, architects and engineers for corrective action prior to being put out for bidding.

 Applying for local or state building permits if Federated Department Stores is acting as self GC on the project.

 Administering contracts (establish bid lists, open bids, oversee post bid review, and write each contract);

 Budget (oversee and maintain during the course of construction);

 Change orders (receive backup for change and issue contract change orders);

 Daily construction activities (including scheduling, phasing and revisions (currently using microsoft project);

 Interface with the end user, Federated senior management, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and local building departments, architect/engineer, from start to finish on any given project.

 At anytime I oversee 2-5 projects with average cost of 1M to 15M.

Duties included estimating, accounting, direct dealings with client, complete project management from start to finish, direct dealings with project architect, handle all client change orders along with subcontractor change orders, and administer construction punch list.

At any given time I was assigned 10 projects dealings with their client Williams-Scnoma.

Final status: all assigned projects completed on time, within budget and with minimum punch list.

Best Products Company, Inc.

Project Manager Richmond, VA

Duties included for new store construction budget estimates, hiring of contractors for each assigned project, dealings with architect, landlord, ordering of owner supplied items, approving of all invoices pertaining to project, issued and oversaw punch list for project, and also was in charge of day by day maintenance for 96 stores west of the Mississippi River.

At any given time, I was assigned to 6 to 8 projects running from 1.5M to 2.5M

Final status: All assigned projects completed on time and budget. Reason for leaving, Best Products filed for chapter 13.

McGuire Woods Battle & Boothe is a very large law firm with over 200 partners in the Richmond office. I was in charge of facilities, cleaning, maintenance, and transfer of documents and any interior remodels.

Duties included but not limited to complete project management for full line department throughout the United States. Handled day to day construction activities, budgets, and contracts, scheduling, ordering of owner-furnished item, local building departments, end user, landlords, and Macy’s management.

Handled one project at a time with average project cost of 20M during an 18-month construction period.

Final status: all assigned projects completed on time and with little punch list.

Reason for leaving Macy’s went chapter 11.
