• Implemented “Pay for Skills” training program which included standardizing plant procedures. This eliminated a seniority based system that was unfair to young highly skilled employees.

• Developed operations integrity management system to address plant safety, health, and environmental concerns in a consistent manner thereby, reducing injury rate from 4 recordable injuries in 1990 to only 1 recordable injury in the following 5 years.

• Reduced fixed cost operating budgets by 1.5-2.5% per year in real dollars through aggressive cost control.

• Developed product specifications, product directives and test procedures to meet ISO 9000 standards which reduced product return rate from 3.5% in 1990 to 0.5% in 1995.

• Installed in-line flexographic presses and in-line bag machines on blown film extrusion lines, allowing for a more value added product, thus improving the plant’s profitability. This improved return on capital employed from 4% in 1990 to over 20% in 1995.

• Developed new film grades tailored for the food packing, mining, tire and rubber, and medical industries which expanded our product line.

• Worked with customers to solve equipment problems in their plants on bag lines as well as flexographic press lines.
