WORKING EXPERIENCES
During my three year learner ship with Carlton Hair I’ve worked in the salon full time and studied part time, where one day a week was for college and two nights for cutting classes. During 2009 I worked and studied as an apprentice in the salon, due to my progress with dealing with clients and progress with cutting and styling I was promoted to being a stylist in my second year 2010 whilst still doing my learner ship. In that time during my second year I’ve progressed rapidly understanding haircuts and handling clients in salon professionally that in April 2010 I was promoted to being an assistant trainer to the first years, teaching the basic fundamentals of haircutting. In my third year I was promoted to being the salon trainer and trained all learners at different levels cutting Vidal Sassoon a b c technique. During these three years I’ve worked long hours in salon and dedicated myself to training others after hours and during working hours as well when there was free time.
I worked my three years with the company whilst studying and in March 2012 resigned and decided to travel as I always planned to. An opportunity arose to work in Cambodia April 2012 to be a part of the Dollhouse salon and be a part of their annual Glamazon fashion and hair show. I’m currently in Cambodia freelancing, renting a chair in July (LOREAL PROFFESSIONAL) salon three days a week and training smaller hair salons basic cutting techniques and up-styles.
I’m extremely passionate about hairstyling and would love to travel and work across the world to keep learning and growing gaining knowledge of working with different hair, climates, cultures and stylists as experience and challenges us to growing to our highest potential and self.
I’ve worked at many events such as J&B met (Cape Town) three times, in house competitions and national competitions, fashion shows Cape Town and in Cambodia, photo shoots and special occasions such as weddings and dress up parties.
