• Revising safety program to meet the VPP Brock Safety Manuel and expectations; to include Behavior Based System Safety, policies, procedures, training, and documentation.

• Creating training and vehicle control documentation to streamline the communication and assist company supervision which will cut costs and save time.

• Developing weekly audit schedule with supervision to increase awareness of safety deficiencies as well as positives to recognize.

• Work setting consisted of a metal fabrication shop and several chemical/refinery plants.

Site Safety Manager Basic Industries Plaquemine, LA December 2009-August 2010

• Managed up to 7 Safety Techs with 530 employees on maintenance, turnarounds, and various projects within the Dow Chemical Plant.

• Restructured safety program in order to develop a positive safety culture and meet VPP/Brock standards. This resulted in an increase of accountability and 550,000 safe work hours over 8 months.

• Created and administered training materials based on standards and regulations for all site personnel. Achieved this through 6 weekly safety meetings with up to 100 employees per meeting.

• Fully investigated incidents to improve job procedures and prevent further occurrences using programs such as Apollo Root Cause Analysis, Critical Incident Techniques, and ABCs- Accountability will Bring Change.

• Enhanced existing HSE training program through documented quizzes, proficiency observations, and the utilization of power points and videos providing a more thorough training of employees.

• Developed and maintained a maintenance tracking program for a 17 motor vehicle fleet.

• Carried an EMR rate of 0.49 over 3 years averaging 49,000 man hours.

• Managed HSE program for 65 employees during Shell Norco Coker Turnaround.

Turner Industries Safety Manager Baton Rouge, LA June 2006

• Managed HSE program for 40 employees during boiler demo at Temple-Inland Corrugated Packaging.

Fluor Government Group Safety Technician Gonzales, LA November 2005-May 2006

• Member of FEMA IA-TAC Katrina Relief Project consisting of 4,500 employees, working more than 9 million safe work hours, while installing 55,000 temporary homes for more than 130,000 displaced residents.

• Collaborated with the hazard assessment team to develop HAZOPs and mitigation methods per job task.

• Completed daily audits of job sites with contractor supervision ensuring HSE compliance.

Weston Solutions EHS Technician New Orleans, LA October 2005-November 2005

• Monitored 4-5 retrieval vehicles daily with each vehicle containing a work team of 4 individuals identifying and retrieving Hazardous Household Waste.
