WORK EXPERIENCE

Texas Children's Hospital – Heme/Onc Unit (9WT) June 2003 – present

-RN: charge nurse (oversee 12 RNs, 4 PCAs, unit secretary, and cleaning staff of 36 bed inpatient unit, provide patient support and address concerns of patients and families, determine acuity and staffing needs, as well as patient assignment for oncoming staff, facilitate patient flow (into and out of unit), precept new nurses to work in the unit, administer chemotherapy, blood products, central line care, monitoring patients under conscious sedation, closely monitoring lab values of patients, and other various nursing duties needed while caring for hematology and oncology patients.
