Employment
August 2004 to December 2008: Shipping/Warehouse Manager. Force Protection Industries, Ladson, S.C.
Responsible for the overall shipping operations, specifically inventory control, warehouse management systems (MAS500) safety and sanitation. Ensures that all shipping goals are met and supports the transportation and company goals. Implements and promotes continuous improvement in the BOS system conversion processes. Interact with upper management in Finance, Contracts and DCMA on all contract orders involving shipments of vehicles and spare parts overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan. Follow through on all air and ocean shipments with different carriers to make sure we are compliant with ITAR and licensing requirements. Supervised the process of parts pulled and distributed for shipments out of country and the production departments. Followed up with all inventory transactions. Understands and have utilizes the concept of Kitting, KanBan system and Lean Manufacturing on a production floor and spare parts to be shipped out of country.
October 2002 to August 2004: Warehouse Manager. Florie’s Screen-printing, North Charleston, S.C. Family owned business where we specialize in screen-printing and state of the art computerize embroidery for corporate and team sportswear. Duties included shipping, receiving, scheduling production and customer service.
April 2001 to October 2002: Merchandise Processing Coordinator: Marshalls Megastore, Charleston, S.C. Start-up operation where I supervised the processing of Homegoods and Clothing to be distributed to the sales floor. Worked closely with the management team to ensure all products are ready in a timely manner. Handled all incoming and out going freight. I trained all new associates on all processing requirements.
October 2000 to April 2001: Open Stock Department Supervisor: Mikasa Distribution Center, Charleston, S.C. I directly supervised forty full time associates in the different areas of Open Stock Department. This consist of receiving replenishment products from the storage department picking, prepping and inducting all products on the tilt tray. Hand packing and using ring scanners to insure products are being shipped to the correct destination in a timely manner. I was the trainer for the P.U.M.P program.
September 1994 to October 2000: Large and Small Bag Department Supervisor: Charleston Packaging Company, North Charleston, S.C. I directly supervised forty five full time and twenty part time Weber, Davis and Potdevin bag forming machine, adjusters, operators, inspectors and balers producing two hundred million quality bags a year. I served on the Site Safety Committee and chaired the committee providing Job Safety Analysis support for the entire plant. Acting Plant Manager during his period of absence. I have increased productivity and quality through successful prototype installation of digital drives, electronic glue laminators, production installation of digital web guides, and an aggressive planned/predictive maintenance and mini over-haul program. In addition, I helped the plant through ISO 9002 Certification by writing procedures for the Tuber/Sewing and Small Bag Department and have passed all subsequent audits. The Small bag spare parts inventory, improvements in baling bags in-line and Root Cause Analysis have further increased productivity. I am proud of our efforts in technical customer support and have visited and assisted numerous facilities experiencing forming/filling problems.
