Sr. Controls Engineer

• Retrofit existing metal stamping/shearing machine with new PLC control system and servo drives/motors to achieve 50% reduction in cycle time and 75% reduction in setup time. Annual labor reduction of $78,000.

• Upgrade control system on cabinet forming lines to allow for manufacturing of new product designs. Included building new VB.NET application and SQL database for all part and order tracking information. Resulted in the elimination of third shift production of the machines and an annual cost reduction of $312k.

• Assisted with design and implementation of new automatic brazing process to allow for new product design and achieve 50% fuel reduction.

• Developed and installed a robotic cell for pick and place application in order to achieve a $125k annual labor cost savings per cell. Total cost savings of $600k per year.

• Retrofit installation of new controls and servos on three straight-tube cutting machines in order to reduce downtime by 25% and eliminate production on third shift. Annual cost savings of $65,000.
