Electrical Technician/ Mechanic.
• Performed electrical and mechanical repairs, as well as additions and installations on various military vehicles (tracked and wheeled) including: Bradley (tracked tank) variants, NLOS-C (Non Line of Sight Canon, tracked), JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle, wheeled) variants, MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected, wheeled) variants, and M113 (tracked tank) variants.
• Built wiring harnesses and electrical boxes to print, repaired electrical boxes, damaged connectors, and damaged wiring harnesses, and installed electrical boxes and harnesses into many different types of vehicles.
• Installed and wired PCMs (Power control module), ECUs (Electronic control unit), TDCUs (turret drive control unit), PMCUs (power management control unit), GSCU (gunners sight control unit), etc.
• Made additions (relays, splices, resistors, lengthening, shortening, etc.) to wiring harnesses and electrical boxes, diagnosed electrical and mechanical issues on vehicles and subassemblies, and routed wiring harnesses in multiple prototype vehicles.
• Measured lengths for wiring harnesses and harness breakouts, installed and removed batteries on vehicles, wired turrets, lights and military communication radios.
• Installed antennas and optical systems, weapon systems, windows, belly armor, side armor, and turret armor.
• Changed track on tracked vehicles and wheel assemblies on wheeled vehicles.
• Removed turrets and weapon systems out of vehicles, installed and removed torsion bars, rollers, track tensioners, struts, airbags, upper and lower control arms, axles, brakes, transmissions, engines, cooling systems, exhaust systems, etc.
• Worked side by side with engineers to help with prototype designs, modification, and additions, and helped wire thermocouples and accelerometers for testing purposes and data collection.
• Drove vehicles for testing and data collection including brake tests, cross-country testing, up-weighted vehicle testing, target lock testing, shooting demonstrations, etc.
• Performed different types of metal fabrication which included using: drills, drill press, band saws, breaks, grinders, sanders, sand blasters, air tools, power tools etc.
• Removed and installed acid and/or lithium-ion batteries (12V and 24V) and worked on 600V hybrid systems.
• Traveled multiple months out of the year for field support (testing, shows, and new vehicle builds), and traveled to multiple military bases including Quantico, Aberdeen, and Camp Roberts.
• Worked with mechanical and electrical engineers daily and currently have a security clearance that can be activated at any time.
