As a paint process expert with strong general business acumen, I successfully design, implement and managed production processes throughout North America. I deliver programs on or ahead of schedule, at or below cost and with effective material and labor solutions. I repeatedly improve productivity and employee morale.
My knowledge in coating operations, quality control, Lean manufacturing and job shop operations insure paint operations are supported at all levels and meets customer and company expectations. My broad based of coating experience includes electrodepostion, liquid applications such as primer, topcoats and basecoat/clearcoat, powder coatings and pretreatment processes. I have thorough knowledge development and testing methods, paint chemistries and failure modes. I am known for:
Integrating new product manufacturing into existing facilities
Reducing overhead costs while improving throughput and quality results
Creating positive and lasting customer relationships
Designing and implementing customized manufacturing processes
Analyzing and overcoming technical problems others are unable to solve
Others describe me as a strong communicator with exceptional attention to detail. My ability to be an individual contributor is balanced with my high performance team management abilities. My BS in Industrial Technology Management was earned from the University of Central Missouri.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Established production processes for new paint facility. Ford built $250M state-of-the-art coating plant. Selected to setup, debug and manage PPG product used at the plant. Established programming, process and quality standards. Met product, schedule and cost goals. Set support structure that captured $18M in business.
Solved technical formulation and application problem. For years PPG could not gain Amana Refrigeration business. I conducted an exhaustive analysis. Secured needed details. Led cross-functional team that invented new paint mixture and production methods. Gained $4M in new revenue and reduced customer production costs by 25%.
Implemented production control plan that cut costs. Paint process on GM production line was a problem. Employees were unhappy and production numbers were far under standards. Revamped schedules, production processes and materials. Reduced scrap defects 25% and increased 1st pass yields by 10%.
Reengineered production process and reduced repair rate 10%. GM production process required overhaul to eliminate assembly damage. Analyzed fabrication process and set new production process. Enabled team to meet defect reduction as outlined in contract. Saved PPG $250K in unnecessary repair costs.
