• Crude Oil Pipeline, Azerbaijan, Clients – J Ray McDermott Middle East/McDermott Caspian: Undertook very critical corrosion testing and certification according to ASTM G48, PQR, welders’ certification for the laying of a SS pipeline for transporting crude oil from the Caspian Sea.

• Offshore Platform, Nigeria, Client – Single Buoy Moorings: Looked after inspection and quality assurance of critical welding and heat treatment of plates of about 120 mm thick including ultrasonic testing of welds and testing at sub-zero temperatures for the construction of a mooring for an offshore platform in Nigeria involving very deep sea installation.

• MIS, Sharjah- Had done corrosion inspection studies for many pressure vessel components like ASTM A262.

• Noble Roger Lewis Rig/Kashagan Barge, Clients – NobleCorp USA, Lamprell Energy, ABS Europe, Saipem: as Inspection Engineer looked after material selection, testing and inspection. Some of the steels needed critical inspection since they were non-certified with issues related to heat treatment and properties. Was responsible for welding consumable control, preparation of welding procedures and coordination of NDT and DT according to project quality control requirements and specifications.

• Inconel Pipeline for Ruwais Refinery, Client – Descon Engineeting, Al Ruwais: Conducted stage inspection of welding to ensure conformity to drawings and tested & certified material after fabrication.

• Material Inspection for Pressure Vessels, Ramsis Engineering Bahrain: Looked after certification of materials for various pressure vessels under fabrication and PQR testing.

• Petroleum Development Oman, Client – Bahwan Engineering Ltd Oman: Looked after welders’ qualification, PQR testing and corrosion testing for pressure vessels fabricated for PDO by Bahwan Engineering.

• Failure Analysis of Copper Tubes, Seawater Cooling Plant, Jebel Ali Power Plant, Client: Cooperheat Middle East: Investigated the premature failure of the copper tubes used in seawater cooling, which failed due to an erosion-corrosion phenomenon before the designed service life and identified the root cause for failure after analysis of various service conditions.
