Duties include daily operation & maintenance of two 10,0000lb/hr propane fired boilers, water chemistry analysis and treatment.
Work with startup engineers to start, test, adjust and commission new Cleaver Brooks boiler and all plant systems in this new plant that produces activated carbon from macadamia nut shells.
Currently laid off due to work stoppage.
No funds available for completion of start-up.

Duties include startup, shutdown and daily operations of the700KW generator, 25,000 lb/hr steam boiler and 2, 250KW Diesel Generators.
Operate, maintain and repair systems within the powerplant such as feedwater chemistry, HVAC chillers, shell dryers, conveyors, elevators, storage tanks, stokers, steam condensers and compressed air system.
Operate Caterpillar loader and forklift to move/stockpile shells.
Operate, rackin/out 480V switchgear.

Journeyman Power Plant Operator, responsible for the daily operation of all steam plant systems, including High & low pressure steam, water purification, compressed air system, 480volt-12KV electrical switchgear, transformers & circuit breakers and turbine/generator controls.
Also nuclear-side operations including reactor coolant pumps, radiation monitoring instrumentation and Certified Assistant Reactor Operator in the Control Room.
Did not hold an NCR Reactor Operator License.
After 5 years in the plant, transferred to the 500KV switchyard, to become a Transmission System Operator, responsible for the daily operation of 500KV, 230KV and 115KV circuit breakers and associated equipment on site, as well as the control room supervision of the Transmission Grid for the Central Coast of California.
Retired in 2005, to move to Hawaii and start a business.
