Joined start-up 501(c)(3) to support and grow staff’s technical expertise in prosthetic component development and manufacturing processes. Contracted to research and establish cost effective methods for product mass-manufacture.

•Researched, analyzed and validated alternate, polymer materials for the LIMBS field knee. Testing was completed to ASTM industry standards. Current, annual distribution to developing world is 500 units rising to 25,000 units annually by 2016.

•Developed foundation for manufacturing infrastructure for mass manufacture of LIMBS field knee.

•Supervised LeTourneau University senior student interns with ISO verification of the current LIMBS knee technology and the development of a LIMBS pediatric knee variant.

•Key contributor to the development of a prosthetic single-axis ankle and interface adapter as design and manufacturing collaborator.

Recruited to help university project grow into a 501(c)(3) organization. Designed and validated variant of existing knee technology for commercial sale. Oversaw five student based teams in the development of new, low-cost, prosthetic technologies and validation systems.

•Developed polycentric prosthetic knee for commercial sale in the global market. Refined existing LEGS M-series knee technology and evolved it into a lockable streamlined product. Partnered with Endolite Inc. for product distribution and independent ISO 10328 certification.

•Evolved M1 knee into M3 knee which included changes to the polycentric knee function, aesthetic appeal, and manufacturing systems. Optimized knee function for greater patient confidence requiring less adjustment by prosthetist. Designed and implement specialized manufacturing jigs to ensure highly precise parts made with low-precision tools.

•Initiated research for low-cost prosthetic foot. Achieved concept to prototype in four months. Special design focus placed on low-cost, region specific materials and manufacturing criteria suggested by published experts in field.

•Teamwork and Leadership: Highly successful in cross-cultural technical training: Charged with on site education of government funded clinics in Dakar, Senegal on manufacturing methods and service support system of the LEGS M-series knees.
