OBJECTIVE:

To secure a position as a QA/QC Welding Inspector where my experience can be utilized. I am willing to travel in the U.S.A. and world wide, preference-Michigan, Ohio, Indiana.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

QA/QC Inspector level II; Mechanical/Electrical/Visual/Welding ASNT TC-1A PT/MT/UTT Level II; ANSI/ASME B31.1, B31.3, AWS- D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.5. Level II

Experience in welding inspection, expediting, quality assurance and third party inspection of material and equipment provided for the petrochemical and power industries. Accustomed to extensive review/interpretation and enforcement of a variety of customer specifications, standards and codes. Equipment inspected and expedited includes, but not limited to mechanical and rotating equipment.

ELECTRICAL-INSTRUMENT AND CONTROLS

Cable Pulling, terminations, continuity testing, voltage and resistance testing, cable splicing, cable routing, megger testing, M.O.V. termination of electrical connections. Verify calibration and installation of instruments and controls.

MECHANICAL

Valve inspections include witnessing reassembly of M.O.V. and M.S.I.V., blue checks on seating surfaces. Bolting inspections include tensioning of high strength bolts, anchor bolts, turn of the nut method, tensioning of the vertical and horizontal tendons. Pressure testing includes hydro and pneumatic tests. Pipe support/restraint systems include hangers, snubbers and spring cans. System walk downs was performed to verify equipment (mechanical and electrical).

PIPING, WELDING and NDE

Visual weld inspection of large, small bore and instrumentation piping for Power systems (steam, chemical, and gas piping). Liquid Penetrant (solvent removable), Magnetic Particle (wet and dry), Ultrasonic (thickness only). Receiving inspection on incoming parts and material prior to field issue. Structural welding inspection of bridge components including beams, girders, stiffeners, traffic and lighting poles and highway Sign supports was performed for Department of Transportation projects for various states.

EMPLOYMENT

HRV CONFORMANCE VERIFICATION INC. - PITTSBURGH, PA 11-04 to Present

QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST/ CWI LEVEL II - Monitored fabrication operations of Highway Steel Poles and Highway Sign supports for D.O.T. state projects. Activities monitored include visual weld inspection, fit-ups, cutting, drilling, NDT and dimensional checks. Extensive document review of Mill Test Reports of hardware, base metals, pipes and welding materials are reviewed for compliance to applicable codes/specs. Weld, NDE, and coating systems procedures are reviewed. Storage and shipping activities are inspected and poles are stamped to assure that all Steel Shop activities comply with the project requirements prior to field issue. Truss and Upright sections were inspected for cantilever and overhead supports.

ROBERT W. HUNT - LOMBARD, IL 03-04 to 11-04 QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR/CWI LEVEL II - Monitored Fabrication Shop activities at various locations to assure welding, NDE, dimensional, and coatings for Bridge components and Highway Sign supports on D.O.T. projects for various states conform to project codes/specs/dwgs. Structural weld inspection of roof framing and bolted connections for a retail department store chain. Document review on hardware, materials, coating systems and welding materials was reviewed for compliance to CMTR's and other documents per project requirements

APPLIED TECHNICAL SERVICES - MARIETTA, GA 02-04 to 03-04 C.W.I./NDE Tech. Level II- Performed MT, PT,UT (thickness) and Visual Weld inspections at a paper mill and chemical plant.

BASSETT HOSPITAL REPLACEMENT PROJECT - FAIRBANKS, AK 06-03 to 12-03 QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR / CWI-Performed visual weld inspection on piping systems, hangers, supports, and sheet steel per ASME B31.1, AWS D1.1 AND AWS D1.3. Verified high strength bolting for proper installation, size, type, and tightness per AISC-ASD.

IVY CITY MAINTENANCE FACILITY- WASHINGTON, D.C 09-02 to 12-02

CWI/NDT TECH- Visual and PT on shock absorber brackets on high-speed locomotives for Amtrak at their maintenance facility.

WESTERN OIL TOOL CO. - CASPER, WY 08-02 to 9-02

TECH. REP- Monitor in-process construction operations at the fabrication shop of rock boxes for iron ore mining. Welding, fit-up of the boxes, document review, material verification, and in-house work activities were monitored prior to being shipped to their Canadian client.

COOPER HEAT/ MQS INSPECTION - ROCHESTER HILLS, MI 09-01 to 06-02 CWI/NDT TECH -VT, PT, MT, UT (Thickness) Level II. Duties include welding inspection NDT, at various assignments in the USA.

NDT GROUP-FLINT, MI 06-00 to 09-01

Magnetic Particle inspection of Control Arms, Connecting Rods and Pittman Idler Arms. These parts are used for the Automotive Industry.

3M CHEMICAL PLANT - CORDOVA, IL 02-98 to 06-00

NDE TECHNICIAN LEVEL II - Process Safety Management-Performed baseline and recurring U.T. thickness readings to assure the mechanical integrity of piping, vessels, tanks and columns exceed the required minimum values due to erosion /corrosion. Performed visual inspection of welds and bolted connections. Field sketches were drawn to establish thickness measurement locations.

VARIOUS POWER PLANTS 1978 thru 1998 Performed QA/QC visual weld and NDE (PT, MT, UTT) functions at various fabrication and power plants throughout the USA. Facilities included oil refineries, chemical, gas, and nuclear plants during construction and outage phases.
