EXPERIENCE
Velodyne Lidar, Inc. Morgan Hill, CA 2010-2011
Electrical Engineer (2010-2011)
Redesigned electrical boards, then laid out various PCB's for different products. Cleaned up existing designs and BOM's for production. Interface with suppliers.
• Designed multiple tight PCB's, added Altera Cyclone III FPGAs with added memory. Updated designs for a more powerful FPGAs. Mentor Graphics tools were used. Designed and built test equipment for the production line. Designed analog and digital circuits for some of the new boards.
BAE Systems, Santa Clara, CA 2005-2009
Principal Electrical Engineer Staff (2008-2009)
Oversaw and designed electrical equipment and sub systems, including scope definition, cost estimates and engineering timetables. Developed safety critical circuits for hazardous systems (hardware and hooks for software) for military applications. Provided complete system design, and start-up support for many projects.
•Designed, oversaw construction and validated system control panel for large defensive system as well as negotiating a fault tolerant design in the larger system including fiber optic interfaces. High voltage and high current system.
•Led a motor drive controller design on a tight schedule and corrected faults in the design to ensure on time delivery and reduction of debug time.
•Personally designed the PCBs by hand routing using a Mentor Graphics product to make sure they were according to company standards and satisfaction.
•Supported other engineers, performed design and peer reviews. Trained other engineers to design quality PCB designs.
Senior Electrical Engineer Staff (2007-2008)
•Designed and supported various military equipment including the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, MRAP and JLTV.
•Served as an interface liaison between BAE engineers and subcontractor engineers to provide a smooth design with near flawless results.
Member of the Technical Staff 2 (2005-2007)
•Designed and supported multiple products including analog, digital and interface circuits. Frequent travel to other states to support products at various test sites.
