Director, Supply Chain Management (2001 – 2008)

Led an organization of 25 employees in the functional areas of production planning, warehousing and distribution, and strategic sourcing for a $200 million active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing operation.

• Instituted and directed a formalized Sales and Operations Planning process which resulted in the increase of on-time customer shipments from 75% to 98% and a 30% improvement in inventory turns.

• Led the implementation of a Warehouse Management System which increased inventory accuracy from 96% to 99.96%. Significant improvements in efficiency and compliance were realized through process design, utilizing directed put away, picking, and batch determination functionality and employing RF bar coding technology. Received the Vice President of Manufacturing Team Award.

• Started up a strategic sourcing function, including the development and implementation of a supplier qualification process, which resulted in first year cost savings of $800K and stabilization of the supply base.

• Led the seamless start-up of a new warehouse facility which allowed the organization to achieve cost, compliance and service objectives.

• Developed and implemented a cross functional process for managing the reduction of manufacturing downtime. Downtime due to lack of materials was reduced by 50%.
