Application Developer
Worked on workflow tools for Market Risk Technology Group. Products worked / supported are “New Product Review (NPR)”, “Model Workflow Tool (MWT)” and “Approved Product List (APL)”.
NPR is a front to back office work flow tool which manages trading products through various phases like Pre review, Evaluation, Review, Approval and Launch. In addition to online review and approval. It is a high visibility tool used by office of the COO, Risk managers and various Business units like Global Commodities, Rates and Currency etc. It provides improved pre and post launch follow up by automated notifications and escalation.
MWT is Model workflow Tool which manages Model Change process and provides enhanced model governance controls and data capture. MWT enables Model life cycle transparency and enhanced communication. It establishes clear ownership by providing online review and approval by each groups (Risk Manager, Model Validator, Middle Office, Finance, Technology etc) involved. It has controls to provide proper prioritization around models in the queue and provides dynamic search and reporting capabilities.
APL is a repository of Approved products including Legacy Merrill Products which were all maintained in SharePoint in excels. There is functionality to add and Edit a product / view the history of transaction / Upload bulk products / with bulk upload functionality to find the cell by cell difference between two excel files.
Responsibility:
• Rewriting MWT workflow tool in Quartz using Python. Working on developing UI pages in Quartz. Writing a Sqldb class to access SQL server from Quartz.
• Attended Quartz training by Chris Laffra.
• Optimizing the Team Page – Page was taking long to run and was timing out sometimes. Optimized the code to Load the page in fraction of seconds.
• Using open XML reading excels for different Line of business, and loading data into corresponding tables. Also saving excels in varbinary column of sql server table to keep a history.
