Production Supervisor

Deco Paper Products, Louisville, KY 2010 to 2011

Responsible for coordinating the daily activities for 35 personnel in the forming and printing departments. Monitor the personnel in reclaim (waste) and material control (shipping and receiving) departments.

Scheduling of production materials for (30) forming and (2) printing presses. Assisted in the printing department with color matching. Moved and inventoried finished material in the warehouse.

Conducted quality audits in both departments. Coached and counseled team members in areas of Safety, quality and productivity.

Prepare daily production and quality reports for management team.

Deco Paper manufactures paper plates and bowls for American Greeting, Graphic Packaging, Amscan and several smaller companies.

Production Supervisor 2007-2010

Algood Food Company, Lawrenceburg, KY

Responsible for leading 10 team members in achieving company goals in safety, quality and productivity. Monitoring the manufacturing process to minimize any disruption in the production of a quality food product. Completed payroll for all personnel. Scheduled deliveries to the Louisville plant for all finished product and receiving of incoming shipments. Maintained weekly and monthly inventories to meet the production demands. Provided production reports to all managers for both facilities.

Production Supervisor 2004-2007

Graphic Packaging Intl., Perry, GA

Managed 40 employees in the printing, finishing, shipping and receiving departments for a folding carton facility. These cartons were produced for Coke- Cola, Pepsi, Dr Pepper and other beverage companies. Facilitated the day to day activities of the production team and any staffing issues. Ensured that all scheduling and shipping requirements were met. Coached / counseled individuals in the areas of safety, quality and productivity to include disciplinary action if required. Provided leadership and direction to production team members and associates to continuously improve quality, reduce waste and increase production. Daily management of time and attendance (EZ Labor) system. Communicated and prepared daily production reports for the management team.

Supervised and coordinated the daily activities of (23) associate in the Thermoforming dept. that manufactured plastic cups and lids for major restaurants and convenient store chains. Press/ Finishing Manager 2000-2002

Focus Packaging NC and KY

Responsible for the operation of the printing press that manufactured toothpaste cartons. Other areas of responsibilities included plate mounting, ink mixing and die cutting. Promoted to Finishing Manager at the North Carolina facility. The start-up phase consisted of the installation of machinery, purchasing, receiving, shipping and hiring of the personnel, training and establishing safety, production and quality goals to meet customer standards.

Production Supervisor 1996-1999

API Enterprises, OKC, OK

Provided leadership, training and supervision to 45 employees in the production of printing on plastic bags for supermarket and major chain stores. The plant consisted of 8 extrusion lines, 20 printing presses and converting machinery.

Production Supervisor 1991-1996

Interplast Corp. Lolita, TX

Assisted in the start-up phase of a 700,000 sq. .ft. plastic facility. Focused on the implementation and coordination of training associates in extrusion, converting and printing dept. Printing dept. had 52 press and converting lines. Extrusion dept. had 40 extruders. Later phase included the facilitation of the day to day activities of 110 employees. This plant was the largest plastic bag manufacturing facility in the United States.

Press Operator / Production Supervisor 1980-1990

Union Camp, Shelbyville, KY

Responsible for the operation of various plastic (blown film) machinery in a start-up facility. Operated and trained new associates on all the machinery installed at the Shelbyville, KY plant. Promoted to production supervisor at the La Grange, GA plant. Involved in hiring and training of employees on the extrusion and converting machinery. The training process included safety, quality and production procedures. Evaluated and discipline personnel on all established goals.
