Accomplished, seasoned Engineering Technician with a solid background in design, layout and detail for various products. Solid project management capabilities with a consistent track record of anticipating consequences of new designs, initiating the correct solution, and completing projects to specification with meeting the critical deadline. Detail driven with great communication skills and a proven positive attitude interfacing with both external and internal customers. Assumes the mentor role and interacts well with diverse personalities. Skilled in the following software:
• Pro-Engineer (Wildfire 2.0) – modules: detail, advanced assembly, sheet metal, and surfacing
• Pro-Intralink (3.x)
• MS Office
• Lotus Notes
• AutoCAD (release 10, 11, & 12)
Professional Experience
Sandvik Mining & Construction, Shenandoah, Texas 2007-Present
Engineering Technician – Design
• Responsible for managing the design, layout and maintenance of the “Raise Bore” product line. Using Pro-Engineer, took the initiative to create new design solutions when called upon as well as establish the modeling and documentation standards for the entire product line.
• Solicit feedback from internal sales force and external customers to design and layout new pilot bit product line while keeping “modular” with using existing manufacturing forgings, thus reducing cost of entire line.
• Redesigned existing tri-cone mining bits for product improvement based contracts.
• Helped co-chair “EDGE” group to create non-existing standards and procedures, while mentoring new engineering employees, for entire Rotary Tools division. These standards and procedures reduced design cycle time for all engineering projects by approximately 25%.
• Perform customer site visits for product performance evaluation/development. These evaluations are used to maintain current mine contracts, as well as improving product quality for emerging contracts.
• Help install and maintain Pro-Engineer software for US, Sweden, and India based facilities.
Corning Cable Systems, Keller, Texas 2003-2007
New Product Designer
• Assumed lead design role in the emerging Fiber-to-the-Home technology. Responsible for entire design and layout of “High Density Fiber Optic Cabinet” which once released, was the market leader and lead to two US patents.
• Coordinated efforts between Engineering, Marketing, and Manufacturing to design and layout “Coupler” products. In 2004, used this knowledge to develop a new product that consolidated five different lines into one, reducing manufacturing time by 75%, which in turn increased manufacturing output.
• Re-documented Fiber Optic Hardware product lines for more modularized approach, and key team member in transferring those lines to Mexico based manufacturing facilities.

Assistant CAD Administrator
• Creator and director of mentoring program. This program was responsible for setting best practices and procedures for Hardware & Equipment Division. The findings from this group resulted in a web based reference and training guide for all engineering employees.
• Maintain and develop extensive fastener hardware libraries in Pro-Engineer.
• Installed and maintained/updated Pro-Engineer for two US based facilities and a Mexico facility, was responsible for training all new engineering employees for all three facilities.
Siecor, Keller, Texas 1996-2003
CAD Drafter/Designer
• Took direction from Project Engineer to layout and detail Fiber Optical Hardware.
• Used Pro-Engineer created detailed assembly and part drawings for manufacturing facilities to procure products.
• Work with manufacturing to prototype sheet metal and plastic injection molded parts, which would spring board into new product lines.
• Created engineering change notices for new products and improvements for existing products.
Awards
• US Patent #6,220,413, Retractable Cable Reel
• US Patent #7,496,268, High Density Fiber Optic Hardware
• Two patent applications submitted: #11/197,213 & #10/955,152
• Sandvik company wide “Fair Play” award. Awarded in 2008
• Divisional “Team Excellence in Action” award from Corning Cable Systems. Awarded in 2004, 2005, and 2006
• Divisional “Individual Excellence in Action” award from Corning Cable Systems. Awarded in 2005
