PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Andover, MA 2006--2011

Company acquired by Pfizer in October 2009

Worked as a Scientist II (Senior Associate Scientist, Pfizer) in the Pharmacokinetics group as an animal study coordinator supporting and scheduling PK/PD studies for up to 10 principal investigators, Veterinarians and technical staff for Oncology, Inflammation and Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases and acted as a liaison/point of contact for all studies and projects.

* Assisted in implementing new in vivo imaging technology for testing of biologics.

* Rodent handling, dosing, serial bleed sample collections.

* Assisted with I-125 radio labeled tissue and serum samples by measuring drug concentrations through use of gamma counter.

* Planned, organized, coordinated and help write study protocols for PK studies by meeting with PI’s.

* Helped Andover become a star site for OSHA VPP inspection and received an Above and Beyond

award.

* Authored 3 IACUC protocols for new animal models for PK (guinea pig, Non human primate and 5/6

nephrectomy rat).

* Amended institutional IACUC protocols when necessary to ensure PK studies were conducted under

humane and ethical standards using GRANITE software.

* Receive, track and transfer samples to bioanalytical scientists for analysis.

* Make dose formulations for PK studies (small molecule and biotherapeutics).

* Handled animal inventory and track/schedule PK studies at other Wyeth sites/external sites as well as compiled and calculated metrics for year end reports.

* Acted as liaison to PIs and various departments/groups, point of contact role on many projects.

* Prepared and presented a poster at NEDMDG “In Silico Prediction of Compound Bioavailability and

Exposure in Rodents.”

* Helped establish a new micro bleed technique for a “one mouse, one PK” model--nominated for “3

R’s” award which greatly reduced animal numbers used in a PK study by 90%.

* Established a 5/6 nephrectomy rat surgical model for renal failure.

* Conducted NHP, rat and mouse glomeruli isolation procedures by working with external vendors.

* Animal handling, dosing, sample collection for various projects including neuroscience, oncology and Inflammation to advance compounds to pre-selection phase.

* Formulation of compounds for dosing to animals.

* Conducted basic cell culture techniques to support various projects (cell growth, maintaining cell colonies, splitting cells, cell counting).

Paratek Pharmaceuticals, Boston, MA 2005--2006

Worked as a Scientist in the PK department establishing the PK lab and conducting in vivo PK studies.

* Established and implemented PK procedures for dosing and sample collection by writing SOP’s as

well as conducting PK studies.

* Computed data using WinNonlin software.

* Formulated compounds for dosing to the animals.

* Coordinated and organized animal requests for PK studies.

Scion Pharmaceuticals, Medford, MA 2003-2005

Company was dissolved October 2005

Worked as a Scientist in the electrophysiology department harvesting frog oocytes and injecting them with mRNA for the electrophysiologists.

* Responsible for the successful removal of oocytes from Xenopus laevis frogs through survival surgery techniques.

* Oversaw and trained new hires on handling and daily equipment maintenance of the Xenopus laevis

colony.

* Responsible for providing the electrophysiology group with ~2000-3600 healthy mRNA injected

oocytes per week.

* Handled and solved any oocyte health problems and implement a corrective action.

* Troubleshoot and resolve micro injector problems.

* Coordinated injection schedules and delegated work.

* Spent three months learning HPLC/mass spec and sample prep, saved company $20,000 in outsourcing

costs, received award for dedication and perseverance.

* Conducted rodent pain models, including acidic acid writhing model and automated formalin studies.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge, MA 2000--2003

Started as an Assistant Scientist working in the PK department conducting in vivo PK studies in rodents and was promoted to Associate Scientist in 2003.

* Performed jugular vein and carotid artery cannulation surgery in rats for PK studies.

* Formulate compounds and conduct PK/ADME studies to enable the selection of drug candidates

toward the support of drug development.

* Presented a department wide, one hour presentation on “What Happens in the Animal Facility.”

* Appointed to represent the PK department at IACUC meetings.
