Employment History:

Owens-Corning Co. Inc. (Jan.-2009 to present) tel:304-***-****; a shingle and asphalt manufacturing facility in Houston. Hired as a master electrician, I was responsible for doing the work of many different trades as a line mechanic. My main responsibility was to keep the line operating until we had downtime to make any major repairs that might be necessary. I designed and installed, a soap and water mixing and application process that eliminated the wasting of over a full barrel of soap per shift($400.00) and all associated labor costs, to apply soap to the adhesive strip on the shingles. I also participated in Kaizans and TPM teams on various sections of the line designed to address concerns on the efficient operation of various equipment throughout the manufacturing process. I was a member of the Electrical VPP team that was designed to facilitate compliance with all OSHA standards electrically in order to qualify for the VPP Star. This included compliance with NEC and NFPA-70E regulations as well as Arc flash training and labeling. Utilization of SAP was mandatory for both predictive and preventive maintenance procedures. My responsibilities were wide and varied as proficiency at such skills as pipefitting, hydraulics, mechanics and pneumatics was a necessity. Also performing tasks such as bearing changes, rigging, machine repair, valve repair/replacement and welding were an everyday occurrence. And of course, safety was the number one priority.

Consolo Construction Co. Inc. (Apr.2007-Aug.2008) tel:239-***-****; a high end construction company in Naples, Fl. I was responsible for overseeing all phases of remodeling multi-million dollar houses and condos in SWFL. I was responsible for ensuring quality control over all the trades from carpenters and plumbers to HVAC and cabinet-makers. Projects were dispersed throughout SWFL from Port Royal to Baypoint condominiums in Naples.

We completed such jobs as Guess Jeans at Coconut Point, The Vanderbilt Office Complex, all the services and condos for “The Residences at Coconut Point” and Fitzgerald’s Restaurant in Naples as well as many other small projects.

Belvidere Assembly (Sep.2005-Apr.2006); Here I was a member of the installation/modernization team for the billion dollar refurbishment of this combination assembly-stamping facility. I was involved in the electrical installation and programming of over 880 robots and all their peripherals for a major “new” vehicle production process. After launch I was offered the supervisory/area manager position over the facility’s stamping operations.

Twinsburg Stamping (Jun.1997-Sep.2005); While at Twinsburg, I worked as a journeyman electrician in the UAW. I was involved in the .75 billion dollar refurbishment of this facility on the electrical end only. As a pressroom electrician I was responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting 27 different lines and all the peripheral machinery, automation and supporting equipment that went with them. We had three Schuler A transfer presses and two Schuler tandem press lines including hydraulic primary presses. We also had various Verson transfer and prog presses, Mueller-Weingartner prog presses and robotic destackers among a plethora of other equipment that I was responsible for. I was also a member of the crane crew and the confined space operations rescue team. Project work included installing galvanized conduit and installing wiring for the facility’s support equipment, general maintenance and safety operations.

Electrician-owner: Here I advanced from apprentice electrician to licensed owner- proprietor of the company. At one time I had as many as 25 employees under me. We did residential, commercial and small industrial jobs. Besides overseeing all electrical work performed by my employees and being a “hands-on” owner, I had full discretion over hiring and firing of personnel, I handled all estimating and training, oversaw all accounting and bookkeeping, all coordination with GC’s and other subs, and had total control over all permits and inspections. I met daily with inspectors throughout the region.

Residential: wired and or supervised the electrical installation of systems in hundreds of new homes including projects at Tallmadge Highlands, Eastgate Commons and Mt. Vernon estates. Also supervised the electrical installation in various apartment complexes comprising thousands of units throughout northeastern Ohio. We also rewired thousands of homes to meet NEC codes throughout the area.

Commercial: wired and/or supervised the wiring installation in various types of commercial establishments ranging from restaurants to machine shops, from medical facilities to office buildings, from gas stations, to pumping stations and retail establishments.

Industrial: wired and/or supervised the installation of various electrical apparati at many different facilities in the Akron area including Goodyear T&R, Firestone, BF Goodrich and Sterling Jewelers.

Education and Training:

The University of Akron: Received BA in Economics in 1982; Also met requirements for a BS in labor economics at the same time. Performed duties as a TA while working toward Masters in econometrics…had three papers published in the prestigious “Journal of Economic Literature” and am a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon-the international economics honorary.
