product. The multi-step process entails: entering job information into a computer,
determining the most efficient way to run the job, creating layouts by hand or by
computer, calculating how much paper is required, confirming that the sell price and
realized job is in line with the estimate, and guiding the job through Pre Press, Press,
Bindery and Shipping. If services from an outside vendor are required, I write the
P.O., work with the vendor to create a schedule, manage the receipt and return of
proofs and artwork, and put together dummies, if required.
I’m also the back-up Scheduler and have been cross-trained in Estimating, Billing,
and Invoicing.
