Tool and Die Maker/ Machine Shop Coordinator:
(12/2010 -present) Telescope Casual Furniture, Granville, New York
Design, engineer and build production tooling and machinery using pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic systems including PLC’S to aid in the production of world class casual furniture. I am also responsible for the repair and maintenance of production machinery companywide. I use predominantly manual milling machines, lathes and welding equipment. I also provide CNC support for production machining.

Machining of exotic materials such as Inconel, Stainless Steel, and different GE spec materials. Programming and manufacturing of tight tolerance parts on CNC machining centers, predominately a Mazak. Also welding, fabrication, maintenance and repair on equipment.

CNC machining using Citizen Swiss style turning centers making complex parts from Titanium, Brass and Platinum for the medical industry. Also responsible for measurements using SPC and optical metrology equipment and documenting the results in a FDA controlled manufacturing facility with stringent quality standards.

Starting as a machine operator and quickly advancing to setting up CNC machining centers on repeat production jobs. From there I advanced to programming complex short run parts for many different industries including aerospace, packaging, and firearms to name a few. Finally, I was promoted to managing their Mazak Flexible Manufacturing System making products for the oil industry. This included working with service techs on the initial installation of the system and building new fixtures for the department’s product line. As well as the programming of each component of the product line that came into the department. I was also responsible for employees across three shifts of operation, ordering tooling, supplies and also meeting with my customers to effectively provide them quality product.

My professor was Mr. Werner Knopp. This was a two-year program which taught basic metal cutting principles using manual lathe and milling machines.
Although I have spent my adult life titled as a Machinist I have repaired and serviced the equipment at these companies on a daily basis for 20 years which includes extensive hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting and repairing.
