Designated Memorial Stroke Educator
1. Chaired Daily Neurological Meetings with Multidisciplinary Tea
2. Implemented a System To Identify Any Patient in the hospital who was exhibiting signs and symptoms of a TIA or Stroke.
3. Educated pt/families about the 5 Points of Stroke at least twice per patient (per JCAHO Requirements) and Documented all Education Completed.
4. Supported /Guided and was an Advocate for the patient/family.
5. Audit TIA/Stroke Medical Charts for Completion: Education Started/Documented, Medications Ordered, Consultants Ordered, Dysphagia Screening, ST, PT, OT, SW, etc.
6. I Implemented a Role Out to the Leadership Team at Virtua regarding Stroke Education, before I left. The Ultimate Goal was to have the Staff Accountable for Education and Documentation.
7. I Effectively Re-Established our Certification in Stroke because of being 100% Compliant in Education and Documention (100% Effective from the beginning to the end, a total of 8 months.)

Designated Stroke Coordinator at Virtua Memorial In Febuary 2010 and Have Been 100% Successful in Stroke Education and Documentation for JCAHO Disease Specific Guidelines Since Then.
I Wrote, Directed and Co-Starred a 15minute Video at Virtua Memorial Hospital in July of 2010, Titled “The Cognitively Challenged Patient”. This Video Was Developed Too Help The Nursing Staff (Nurse Aides and RN’s) on How To Better: Identify, Understand, Communicate and Assist This Challenging Patient Population.
