BARBARA DELLDONNA
OBJECTIVE
I am looking for a new challenge. I am eager to learn and grow in the nursing field.
FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY
I enrolled in the Vinal Tech LPN program which I successfully completed in 1991. I started my first nursing job at Middlesex Hospital working on the post surgical floor. My duties included total patient care, dressing changes, wound care, and medication passes. It however, was not long before Middlesex Hospital began phasing out LPN’s. I then, began to work at Ridgeview Healthcare. While working at Ridgeview Healthcare, I would oversee CNA’s, medication passes, treatments, wound care, ordering medications, booking appointments and taking orders from doctors. I was also a charge nurse of the wing. I was able to complete my work in a timely manner with no difficulties. I was able to maintain professional relationships with my staff. I was ready for a change and began a new job at New Britain General Hospital working as a hemodialysis nurse. My duties included assessing my patients prior to dialysis treatment, insertion of needles into a fistula or graft depending on patient, or hooking up to dialysis machine via a perm catheter, dressing changes to those with perm catheters, giving medications some via dialysis machine, infusing PRBC’s when needed and monitoring patient and dialysis machine throughout the treatment. I left New Britain General in 2004. I began a new job at MHS Primary Care which is a family practice taking care of newborns to the elderly. I worked primarily with an APRN in our office. I would fill in with other doctors on occasion. My duties included doing basic vital signs, drawing blood, checking glucose levels, performing EKG’s, dressing changes, immunizations for adults and children to prepare them for school. I would also assist other doctors in the office with minor surgical procedures. I then left MHS Primary care and began to work for Maxim Staffing Solutions. Maxim was a nursing pool which meant that I did various nursing assignments and worked with various patients. I then, decided that I wanted to try and find something more stable and found a job working for J. Morrissey. This was a job that was not a hands-on nursing position. I was a core measure specialist. This job entailed going through charts and inputting data into a computer system. I worked for the American Red Cross from October 2008 to September 2009 I did phlebotomy work and would take medical histories from donors.
