• Embroidery by Michellene
Co-owned and managed (1987-2007) commercial embroidery business. Interviewed, hired and trained/coached six person staff. Grew business from one account to 150+ accounts from cold calls, repeat orders, referrals, and internet inquiries. Made sure raw materials and drop shipments were accurate and received properly and work was completed and shipped on time. Responsible for all shipping, including all paperwork for both U.S. and International shipments, including the military. Worked with transportation companies to ensure all paperwork and addresses were carried out per customer orders, particularly the military.
• Mead Paper – First Line Supervisor
Supervised 18 hourly employees in a Union environment in the Roll Wrapping & Shipping Department. Worked with supervisors and hourly personnel in many other departments to keep the manufacturing process up and running when our department was down for maintenance, etc.
Worked with local Railroad Company to order in railcars due to anticipated switches (heavyweights or lightweights) and set up and called the switches with our on-site rail personnel. Also was trained in Dispatching truck loads to fill in when needed.
Worked with staff and outside contractors developing Training Manuals for the E-4 Project and helped set up training sessions for hourly and salaried personnel for the Project.
• Mead Paper – Executive Secretary
Performed secretarial duties for the Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales, and his Inside/Outside salespeople. Also acted as the Advertising Liaison for the Division. Made all travel arrangements, including International, for all Sales/Marketing personnel and made all arrangements for sales meetings, customer outings.
Continued to schedule employees (Southern-swing schedule) for E-3 Paper Machine System on a weekly basis and worked with HR to schedule Labor Pool personnel to fill vacancies.
