PROJECT EXPERIENCE:
Solo Projects:
• Network Operations Center Dashboard: Developed a central application which was used in entirety and exclusively by the Network Operations Team. This application managed all the operations of the Network Team which mainly were Hardware Management, Mapping of Hardware, Software, Databases and Applications, Tickets creation and management, Hardware Maintenance, Monitoring Management etc. This entire application was written in ASP.NET 2.0 with C#. The database was SQL SERVER 2005. AJAX and WEB SERVICES were used in majority. The entire project involved all the cycles of the SDLC approach with the waterfall model in mind. Out of all the parts the most enjoyed by me was the Database schema design as we had a goal to make the design as configurable as possible due to possible additions in the future.
• Molina Correspondence System: Developed single handedly a central application for generating all the correspondence activities of Molina Healthcare Inc. Molina being a health insurance company the need for correspondence with its various entities (i.e. members, providers etc.) was a critical part of their business. This application was a central point for generating documents and storage and reporting. This application was made in ASP.NET and C#.NET and SSRS (SQLSERVER REPORTING SERVICES 2008) was used for document and report creation. All the users were set up in this application as per the security requirement. AJAX was used to achieve greater usability. Exposing the entire SSRS to work with several formats and also with batch generation was particularly interesting to me. Also integrated this particular solution initially with SharePoint 2007 and then with a 3rd party storage tool for permanent storage. This was therefore an end to end solution which involved users coming to the application to generate a report till the permanent storage and archival of that report. Also this solution replaced the existing 3rd party system which saved the company up to the tune of $800k per year and also less in terms of maintenance and development time.
• Waiver Request Management System: Developed an application which managed and tracked all the waiver eligible members for the state of TEXAS. This application was made precisely to the business requirement specifications. This was made in ASP.NET 2.0, C#, SQL SERVER 2005. AJAX and WEB SERVICES were used to achieve greater usability and functionality. In this project I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction and communication with the business users in the entire life cycle of the project with requirement gathering as the start phase and testing and maintenance as the end phase. This application eliminated the all the existing excel data sheets used to maintain these members, thus saving employee time and improving productivity and accuracy.
• Database Driven Projects: Worked on several database driven projects and designed and developed database solutions. Many of these solutions involved use of SSRS (SQL SERVER REPOPRTING SERVICES) and SSIS (SQL SERVER INTEGRATION SERVICES) for creation of various jobs and scheduling these jobs via a scheduling tool (i.e. Autosys). I really enjoyed working with other teams in these projects and to learn new techniques and technologies.
Team Projects:
• Domain Assessment Tools: Developed an application which was used extensively by the business for performing day to day assessments of Molina Members. This application was used by 6 states and was also used in online as well as offline mode. This application was made in ASP.NET 3.5, C# and SQL SERVER 2005. This application was entirely made in the MVC (Model View Controller) pattern architecture. Learning the new MVC architecture for designing applications was a prime interest of mine. I managed 4-5 offshore resources for this project. Held meetings every night for regular updates and assigning work.
• Managed the Intranet: Managed and updated the Intranet and SharePoint 2003 sites for the various different entities of the company. Used a lot of HTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT. Also configured and maintained the Board of Directors site of Molina Healthcare Inc. Enjoyed communications with all the tier of the company.
• Testing of various applications: Wrote various test cases for gauging the performances of various applications which were developed by our team using a 3rd party testing tool.
