Process Development/Project Management
• Designed from the user end, and tested global Work In Process report. Supplied feedback to IT group to modernize from a crude MS Access database to an interactive, intuitive intranet site. Report became an integral part of the division’s daily structure.
• Tested and implemented from an accounting perspective, go-live of new general ledger system. (transition from Computron to SAP.) Self-taught the intricacies of the new process and trained the entire department.
• Collaborated with department on implementation of outsourcing program, counseled on processes to outsource or retain, developed in-depth training regimen, and supervised staff and reporting efforts post transition in Bangalore, India.
• Corrected sensitive, audit risky procedure of deleting invalid system generated cash breaks from the Nostro books. Teamed up with Loan IQ, and Smartstream IT groups from an Accounting perspective to devise a new method to avoid these glitches, and end the delicate and controversial procedure of altering records.
• Trained new staff to work at “near shoring” office in Jacksonville, FL. Joined forces with business analyst to develop step-by-step, illustrated, training documentation. Delegated assignments for Jax area, and reviewed processes from Jersey City.
• Delivered procedure for smoothly converting unwieldy, paper wasting DOS themed MSA trial balances into user-friendly Excel spreadsheets.
• Retired thousands of dormant general ledger accounts on trial balance, by coordinating with controller group in Nashville. Accelerated cost cutting by ending the corporation’s maintenance of inactive accounts.
• Issued daily P&L reports for loan trading desk using Total Return Swaps database. Delivered feedback to swaps IT group which helped evolve the report from a raw assortment of downloads, to an interactive client statement database. Reconciled offsets between loan and counterparty revenue. Reviewed financing, interest, and assorted components on a swap by swap basis. Followed up and escalated on red flag P&L variances.
Financial Control/Accounting
• Reviewed blotter and allocated new trades for a variety of trading desks. Reported pending issues and controlled unallocated items. Followed up with front office and support groups to resolve all outstanding trades.
• Created and maintained Work in Process and Nostro reporting. Assigned responsibilities based on reconciliation of suspense items. Controlled and insured resolution of aged issues.
• Produced reporting for Federal Reserve Bank regulators (Credit ratings/cost of borrowing, loan participations sold).
