• Verify patient identification, perform patient education prior to procedure, and perform diagnostic X-ray exams on patients.
• Protect patients from radiation and utilize immobilization techniques in accordance with the prescribed safety standards.

• Select proper techniques settings, produce films with sufficient density, penetration, resolution and contrast required for diagnostic purposes.
• Review processed images to be sure that they are of acceptable diagnostic quality. Identify problems with film quality and determine the cause and need for repeats; check film image, technical settings and darkroom equipment.
• Assist physicians during UGI, IVP and BE procedures.
• Perform quality control check of imaging equipment and troubleshoot minor equipment problems. Perform assigned quality assurance test, provide complete and accurate documentation on a timely basis.
• Prepare examination records, provide concise explanations regarding difficulties with patients and/or problems affecting image quality, completely and accurately enters required data into the Radiology Information System.
