PC Technician through Insight Global, at State Farm Bureaus around Greensboro, Burlington, Roxboro and Durram NC (03-06-2012 to 06-26-2012)
I was replacing all Laptops running XP with Windows 7. A process that involved backing up users files
to the local server, and restoring back to the new PC. Walking users though the restore process and the
setting back up Outlook (which is mostly automated ex viewing team members shared folders).
Replacement of older HP LAN printers with newer models. A process that involved:
Remote Desktop into the local server (Windows Server 2003 enterprise) updating the DHCP to give
out the same IP address as the old printer. Then setup CPI (centralized printer Infrastructure) to
automate the instillation of the new printer to all PC on the LAN.
Some running cable to move the LAN printer to new location was involved, where I would have to
make sure the rj45 jack was put back into the same port on the switch from the punch down panel.
Also had to sometimes set up local all in one printers, and wireless cradle points (this was a backup
wireless connection incase the main connection went down).
