I’ve been in Charlotte for a little over year to spend time with my son and daughter.

My most recent job experience has been in the food service industry where I worked at the Las Vegas Hilton as a food and hospitality server in room service. I was there for 14 years.

I’m applying for this position so I can utilize the skills and experience I’ve learned while working in the fast paced environment of Las Vegas tourism.

While in Vegas I’ve worked as a captain and food service waiter. Aside from basic food delivery and overseeing large parties from 10 to over 2000 guests over a several hour period, what I most importantly learned was how to balance several different key elements at the same time.

When dealing with my customers, from practically every continent and demographic, I’ve learned to interact with their different behaviors and temperaments, so that I can insure customer satisfaction.

When working within the kitchen environment, one truly has to have hands-on multi-tasking abilities. At any given time you may have, literally, thousands of customers needing immediate attention.

This entails assessing your staffs abilities and temperaments, while coordinating all the related departments’ productivity, and timing it precisely in a very short amount of time, to make sure your customers experience is enjoyable and memorable.

In addition, there are upper management, owners, and executives to take into consideration. Handling all the above, effectively, will result in return business.

Juggling these elements has honed my ability to keep an eye on the big picture and also on the smallest detail that may be hinged to a better result.

My hours ranged from 25 hours a week, to 10 to 14 hour shifts and sometimes no days off for a month. So any hours that are available would be perfect.

I have known Arthur Metz as a father figure, for 27 years, while living in Las Vegas. Arthur was with the same hotel in multiple capacities for many years; at the Hilton for 15 years, at the Dunes for 10 years prior to closing, and Stardust before they closed. He is reliable and very customer-service oriented. He’s friendly and personable.

Arthur moved to NC about a year ago to be closer to the family. He is looking for long-term employment with a reputable hotel, using his 25 years of experience in the service industry.
