The SWIMSS system was designed and developed under the direction of the Indiana Department of Health, Division of Disease Control, Bureau of Sexually Transmitted Disease (BSTD)

• This system is the Indiana replacement for the existing STDMIS system.

This system is capable of:

• Tracking and investigating infections and reporting local statistics to the state for rollup to the CDC.

• Administration for the users (Nurses etc)

• Each individual in the system has one Profile and advanced search feature. Profiles may be linked to Partners, Family, friends, siblings, more. Profiles may be merged to eliminate duplicates

• The Episode List is a snapshot of the patient at the time, including a Field, Maternal, and Congenital records if necessary. The set of Episodes comprise patient history

• A Field Record tracks the instance of an episode. Each Field Record concerns one disease. Concurrent Infections result in additional Field Records. Field Records are displayed on the User’s Task list along with Disposition Due Date
