To Whom It May Concern:
While resumes only offer a snapshot of a person, what follows is an overview of my education in the real world of exceptional customer service.
My strong work ethic was forming as a paperboy at age 12, and my desire to provide excellent service was sharpened in the restaurant business during the 1970’s and 80’s. At age sixteen I started as a busboy at a chic Rochester, NY restaurant (Park Avenue Pub) and worked up to waiting tables.
On to Atlanta, GA, where I waited tables at upscale restaurants such as Capo’s and Dailey’s (where I also trained waitstaff). At the time Dailey’s was a premier restaurant corporation in the greater Atlanta area.
Except for the role of “owner,” I have performed basically every function in a restaurant: assistant manager (Godfather’s Pizza), assistant kitchen manager (Chi Chi’s), sous chef (57 Fighter Group), line cook (Sundial at the Westin Peachtree Plaza) and head cook (Provino’s), all in Atlanta. I also managed a champagne/wine/cigar bar in Tampa, FL (Charlie’s Place).
Given the high turnover in the restaurant business, I have one consistent reference: Bill Greenwood (contact information below).
My success in the restaurant business was borne from a desire to the make the diner’s experience a memorable one, to anticipate their needs before they even realized them. I would welcome the opportunity to bring my gifts to your business and help it flourish.
Sincerely,
Jaime Perkins
