1978-2011: Kansas University Medical Center and Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas.

Duties: (1) Initially worked in the outpatient pediatric clinic, the Children and Youth clinic, doing simple tests like CBC (Coulter), ESR, Urinalysis, Mono, Wet mount, plating for strep.

(2) Transferred to Stat Lab (Chemistry; routine chemistry profile( SMAC), Iron studies, lipid profiles and therapeutic drugs testing by Abbott TDX

(3) I was requested to work with DR. Chavez doing Organic Acids by Gas Chromatography for a year.

(4) Our 3rd shift was in need of extra help,I volunteered to work from 3:30 AM to 1:30 P.M to help the night shift mainly in Chemistry and doing daily maintenance and Quality Control in preparation for the Day shift. Chemistry tests were all done by Beckman’s DXC such as the chem profile, lipid profile, liver profile, drugs of abuse etc. and DXI testing for thyroid function studies, therapeutic drugs etc., as well as other tests including blood gases, urinalysis, cyclosporine, FK 506,(Abbotts TDM then we switch to Architect) and hemoglobin A1C( by Primus) and TNI data entry of pre- and post- analytical testing of blood and other body fluids, including test reporting, verification, investigation of technical instrumental and/or physiological causes of unexpected results. I also was a monitor of quality control (moving average),maintaining inventory supplies and reagent, non-analytical equipment such as refrigerators, freezers and centrifuges and maintaining a safe work area. I also taught theory and procedures using educational methodology to clinical laboratory science students (Medical Technology students). Finally, I participated in the performance improvement activities and the evaluation of new tests.

I have excellent professional work habits and interpersonal skills, including relatiung to patients and their family members.

1976-1978: Osteopathic Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Duties: Worked mainly in Radioimmunology tests like Renin, Thyroid function studies.

1971-1976: Bethany Medical Center and Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas. Duties: Worked in all the areas of the laboratory when needed but scheduled most of the time in Hematology and Blood Bank.
